Wetherby

is this the site of what is or was HM Borstal Wiki states it was a former RN depot! but opened in 1958

Yes, it was a 'stone frigate', or, shore establishment.

This site was originally built for workers at ROF Thorp Arch, but, never used. Taken over by the Admiralty in 1942 and named HMS Cabot. Re-named HMS Ceres in 1944.

EASTCOTE

This was Depot No. 104, under the control of Works Area No. 10 Northwood.

Classed as a major depot, its postal address was Catlins Lane, Eastcote, Harrow.

The listed station for goods traffic was Pinner LNER. The listed station for passengers was Northwood Hills, the nearer of the two.

Was Eastcote the home of another type of depot as well?

Eastcote was the location of an outstation of Bletchley Park and housed Bombe decoder machines.

I also have an entry which states that there was a unit located at Eastcote which was No. 2 TOB, being administered by No. 372 Wireless Unit of No. 26 Group (possibly the same location).

Anyone any ideas as to the function of a TOB?

CRICKLADE

This looks to be the likely site for Cricklade now overbuilt with housing:

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite

This was Depot No. 43, under No. 4 Works Area, Warrington.

It functioned as both a major depot and minor depot in its life.

The station used was Wrea Green, LMS.

I wonder if that railway line which ends at the depot was built specially, or was intended to carry on.
(or did continue and the northern part was removed before the 1960s)
