It's great to see that Avro Shackleton WR963 completed a successful taxy last Saturday at Coventry. Their still on track to get her airborne eventually -

Video clip of the taxy last Sat here -

Here's a shot of her that I took in 2011 during an engine run -

More info here on the ongoing restoration to flight here on their faceache page -

Some other Shackleton news is that the Gatwick Aviation Museum's Shack is currently being dismantled & is to move to Bruntingthorpe to join the Cold War Collection there. It's planned to be a gate guard.

The RAF Museum has a Shackleton, it's the AEW.2 WR960 at the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry.

What is the status of the AEW2 (now a MR2) at RAF St Mawgan? RAF owned?

My point about the RAF Museum having a Shackleton is to do with why the one they have is on loan and not at either Cosford or Hendon?

Agree-there seems to be several Shackleton's to choose from and after all it was a very significant aircraft postwar/Cold war, so why don't they have one at Cosford or Hendon? I visited Hendon earlier this year (for the first time in 20 years) and noted some exhibits which appeared to have a tenuous connection to the RAF?

In Shackleton news, the former Gatwick Aviation Museum, Shackleton WR974 moved to Bruntingthorpe this week, it is going to be staticly restored and probably put on the gate.

There is actually three at Paphos and as far as I know they are all still there, as is the one at Nicosia. Not seen them yet but they are all present this year according to demobbed.
