Very interesting subjects there, I don't suppose you know the story behind Cadet Stone do you? It's interesting that he received a CWGC Headstone.

Found it! "An Airspeed Oxford from No. 6 Service flying Training School crashed at Eastleach. Other crew killed were: 137210 P/O Barkworth, and 1067824 W.O. Renault.

Has anyone noticed how the number 4 on the LACs gravestone at Little Rissington is much larger than the other numbers? And also how the rank has been partially abbreviated?

And on the subject of memorials some of you may have heard about the war memorial beinf stolen in Tidworth. Its obviusly been stolen for scrap, but would any scrappy with a shred of decency touch it? I hope not.

Well spotted Canberra, though it's not only the number 4, also the number 2 on the same headstone. I wonder what that's all about.? I'll check some of the other headstones next week if I get the chance. I just chose a few at random from WW2. Also quite surprised to see the headstone of Air Marshall Sir Ivor Broom there.

Took these today in Marlborough.

IIRC Sir Ivor Broom was a former Commandant of CFS, that may explain why hes buried in Little Rissington, but it doesnt explain why his headstone appears to be a CWGC one.
