Well I think this is the end to my airshow season for this year. It has been a great year and nice to met up with fellow AiXers. So here is my finale from East Kirkby and the Lancaster Taxi Runs on November 5th.

I am a new member here, and was amazed to see these photos, I was there on that day, and remember very well nearly being blown off my feet when the Lightning was powered up, and being covered with grit, wonderful. My son said he had never seen me look so excited! Pity the Lancaster couldn't fly due to the gale but there you go. I wish we could see the Vulcan fly at Bruntingthorpe, one of my most vivid memories is seeing it fly in its white version at Farnborough, a sight and sound never to be forgotten.

Hi Pauline,
Welcome to AiX. It is brilliant being so close to the Lightning as it powers up isn't it? As for the Vulcan..you never know..it could put in an appearance again this year at either of the Cold War Jets Open Days. The next one is Sunday May 6th by the way.
