Disappeared from Lossie when 617 disbanded last year, along with the BB too.

A couple of photos taken in the early 50's at Brooklands of a reunion with Barnes Wallis with some of his wartime team and possibly ex Dambusters aircrew.

Kevin

Careful examination of three photographs leads me to believe they are all taken at the same location.

Agreed, that is why I posted it. But unattributed and undated

Odd that the group photos were in front of the smaller Tallboy only. You would think they would have included the larger bomb if it had been there at the time

Taken in the 1960s, this picture from my good friend Larry Stead shows three incredibly handsome air cadets posing by a Grand Slam at an RAF station. They say “if you remember the ‘sixties, then you weren’t there” — well, I have absolutely no recollection of where the picture was taken! Wild guesses include Coningsby and Lindholme; possibly Cranwell; almost certainly in the Yorkshire-Lincolnshire area.

Can someone please clarify where the Tallboy and Grand Slam bombs were manufactured and filled?

Thanks Ian

I'm not doing too well with this research.

The only positive reference to filling Tallboy and Grand Slam is ROF Elstow (Bedford)

If anyone knows any other ROF who lay claim to this please let me know.

Thanks Ian
