As most of a Mosquitos airframe is wood just how stealthy is it? I know I saw BAEs Mossie on radar one day, but it produced a very small blip, if I hadnt known where to look I would have missed it.

And at one time BBMF were going to get RR299.

Slightly off topic, but. Does anyone here have a photo of RR299 in silver with dayglo stripes? It wore this guise for a short while between it being silver with yellow T bands and camouflaged with HE-T aside the fuselage. Seems to have been a little camera shy at the time: 63-5ish.

At RAF Burtonwood in 1949 during the handover to the USAF a batch of Mosquitoes (mostly FB6s) were awaiting scrapping. All but one carried normal RAF serials, however, one aircraft n RAF colours carried serial 74378 on the fin. This is obviously not a USAF number but what can it have been? Can anyone help?

A lovely atmospheric shot there Stevie. Can't wait to visit E K again. Haven't had the chance since this Mossy has been in residence. And to think I used to go there, or past if time was short, every Thursday for 14 years or more.

The Dead got memorials, The living got time.
