An update from the Lincs Lightning Group who were crowdfunding a move of their aircraft XS416 from New York (Lincs) to Kirmington, dated 23 MArch 2018

Lincs Lightning Ltd regrets to announce that after an exhaustive search for a suitable airfield within Lincolnshire and Humberside it has not been possible to find a site that satisfies our requirements at the present time. There are a couple of options for the future but a firm arrangement cannot be agreed at this time.

Fortunately however all is not lost! We are left with an alternative, which is to start a cosmetic restoration combined with a certain amount of mechanical work on XS416 at her current location, New York Lincolnshire. The owners (Dave and Lesley Blissett) will continue to manage the project and will keep everyone updated via this Facebook page.

We raised money from donations to assist with the move of 416 to Humberside Airport but since those supporters donated via a third party, (Just Giving website), we do not hold the contact details of those donors. We would like to propose this money is used towards the restoration of the aircraft but if this does not suit any of our supporters then please get in touch via this Facebook page within the next 30 days so we can arrange a refund, alternatively we can donate the monies to the RAF Benevolent fund if individuals wish.

On BBC News at 6 this evening was an item on the RAF, focusing on the 100, Space and women

I was amused to see that the last clip was spoken to camera in front of a Lightning F6.
