met him several times at Tibenham in the 70 and 80's

It is building 702 dining hall in was was called the WAAF site , Tibenham also the officers mess on same site
the Photo label in our club house at NGC is actually wrong , he was Officer commanding 703 squadron 445th Group , not Group commander

He was actually squadron commander (703 squadron ) from its inception at Sioux City , came over as a passenger in John Sherrards ship landed at Tibenham Dec 1943
flew 20 missions in that capacity , and then promoted to Major being posted to Old Buckingham in March 1944 as group operations officer for the 453rd Bombardment wing,but kept close associations with Tibenham as his lady friend lived there
