Something, somewhere near Brunton

I was checking the Brunton area on NLS a few minutes ago, not that I'm particularly interested in the place, just intrigued why some airfields are depicted, but most are not, when I came across this loop of railway lines in the middle of nowhere. Poss a range of some sort?

The co-ords shown are good, the area is a few miles north of Brunton, near Bambro'.

Thanks for that. I'd missed the previous threads. I think I see military related stuff everywhere, so it's nice to be proved correct occasionally.

You can park your car at Ross and walk out onto the links . I've been that far but no further yet ! There are two surviving quadrant towers at Cheswick and in the booklet 'Exploring the Historic Buildings of the Northumberland Coast' , ISBN 9781 873402 22 2 , 2006 , there is mention of some range building foundations near Ross and I wonder if this is the 'Observation Tower' marked on the map above ? There are also lots of concrete hardstandings in this area which are clearly visible on GE .

There's what appears to be a similar AT MTR south of Stobs Camp near Hawick. Centred on GR NT512060
