Looks like the chippie is having fairly major servicing (maybe on a Major serv)
In the late 70's/early 80's this was carried out at Shawbury (by Marshalls i think) -but this photo could be a little older than that - so a date for the photo might help ID the location if we can work out the possibilities for chippie deep maintenance locations.

On reflection and looking at the a/c colour scheme I would have to say that the photo was no later than 1973 since it appears to be in the Grey/Dayglo colours.
The Unit badge just fwd of the cockpit looks a little familiar !!

Identifying the unit badge would probably help a lot... and I agree with BVS that it may help to post to a couple of other forums.
Additional possible clues which may or may not be relevant are that one of the airmen did national service with the RAF and subsequently worked for Handley Page - most likely Hertfordshire.
So this is photo is likely to be pre 1970 - Are they wearing RAF clothing?

The marking looks very similar to the camera marks used in testing. As for the clothing, well its difficult to tell it looks similar to RAF coveralls.

As I recall (up to 1970) the standard protective clothing for RAF aircraft trades was 'denims' a one piece garment with long sleeves button-up in olive green denim material. The two men in the photo appear to be wearing darker coveralls possibly non-RAF as might be issued by a contractor.
Can anyone read the sign on the wall above the entrance to one of the annex workshops? ........ Bay. Got to be a 'C' Type hangar.
