To save starting a new thread, whilst we are talking about engines, The One Show last night showed Dyson's Whittle jet engine being run up (not full power!) outside their offices.

They hung a Dyson engine on the front of a Spitfire or are you referring to a Griffon engined Spit?

The video is of PS890 a French registered aircraft that was fitted with a shackleton engine and gearbox so having contra rotating propellors

I think you can adjust the direction of the jet blast using a knob on the top.
