I do not think so, this is from the buy image section on their web site

We have been closely monitoring Scottish Government advice regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19) and reviewing our procedures and operations in line with any developing advice.
Following the recent announcement that the UK is moving from the “containment phase” of the outbreak to “delay”, we have taken the decision to temporarily close the HES Archives and Library at John Sinclair House. We will continue to process orders and enquiries where possible. However, please note there may be a delay in accessing the material you need.
Our web services listed here will continue to be accessible as normal.

I think the ordering of scanned images is largely automated and since all the BfA images are scanned I suspect that will still work.

Not sure what the free bit is as I registered for free way back when it started and have been viewing in high resolution since they made full screen viewing and option. I did buy an image a few years back but it was no better than the zoomed in image on screen. If the original is not crisp then the scan won't be and a very high resolution scan won't improve it.
