Airfields without Memorials

I have been thinking of this for a while but it would be good to get a list together of Airfields with no known memorials. A few that spring to mind are;

Ingham / Cammeringham
Worksop
Stretton / HMS Blackcap
Shepherds Grove
North Creake
Ludham
Swannington
Great Massingham
Woodbridge

If you can think of any more, or can correct me on any I have mentioned. Let me know. I'll add a few more to this list when I think of them!

Desborough has no memorial.

One airfield that DEFITNETLY should have a memorial is North Witham airfield in the twyford forest.
I wonder how many of those cyclists, horse riders, dog walkers and ramblers who walk through the bomb dump in the woods and on to the runways and peri track have any idea of the history of this place?
The enterance to the car park and pic-nic area would be a great place for a memorial here.

Newton (not seen one on my visits there)

I can think of lots of OTU airfields that don't have memorials.

Regards North Witham Airfield.There was definitely going to be a memorial. Funds were being gathered and a clearing was made with a couple of trees being planted. The proposed dedication date was 6-6-2004. But some thief thought his/her need was greater and stole the money. Just hope that they bought something that choked 'em.

I was recently in contact with a chap* who was in the process of fundraising and planning a memorial for North Witham. We exchanges a few emails on the subject last year, but not heard anything since. A very historic place indeed. One that I have passed so many times while on journeys but never walked around...yet!

*No the chap wasnt Scottish or ran a website starting with the alphabet:wink:

Beccles / Ellough is another airfield with no memorial

Strange how some airfields have more than one kind of memorial, Seething has three !!, while others have nothing. Nothing known at Bovingdon which I think is strange as General Eisenhower's personal B-17 was based there.
