Members Area - Problem downoading Research Notes

From the Member's Area, when I select any of the available Research Notes and click on the Download button my Android tablet briely indicates download progression then stops with the message Cannot complete download file is not in valid PDF format.

Any ideas?

A few weeks ago I seemed to have downloaded a couple of the documents yet failed to locate them in my tablet's files.

I'm not at home at the moment I'll have a look later if Dietmar don't beat me to it.

Seems to be at on my iPad

Just checked and it's fine on iPad, MacBook, Windows laptop and iMac.

I don't have an android anything so I can't test it.

It must be an android thing as the files are perfectly normal PDF files.

I got the same errors on my Samsung phone, but it isn't an android problem it is googles naff pdf viewer, I tried viewing the files with pdf viewers from 2 other sources and the files opened up no problem.

So don't use the built in android pdf viewer or the google drive pdf viewer, niether of them work, find another vendors, I used Polaris office viewer 5 to open the pdf's fine.

Thanks Chris, I didn't think of that so will try to change the default to the same PDF viewer which I use for already downloaded files.

I can't see how to change the default which appears to be Adobe Reader which opens all my other downloaded PDFs.

I have tried two other PDF readers without success. Tapping download button of any of the research notes causes normal black screen on my Samsung Galaxy tablet and the usual laterally flashing blue line at the top of the frame for a second or two then a window Cannot downliad PDF invalid file format.

My Android Version 4.2.2. I can download PDFs from other sites but it doesn't like ARG..

Could it be a file size issue?

There is nothing strange or weird about the file format. Whatever the problem is, it's at the download end.

Can you download OK on a normal PC?
