A reasonably well known P-47 of the 62nd Fighter Squadron, LM-Sbar, but can anyone please identify where the photo was taken? The "greenhouse" is quite distinctive and knowing the airfield might just give me a chance of identifying the P-47 in the background!

Warton

You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

Brilliant! Many thanks, although it cuts down my chances of identifying the other P-47. I was keeping my fingers crossed that they had a forced landing or early return from a mission so that I might have been able to tie the two of them up. Must have been at Warton on its way to the 404th FG 9th AF. 42-76250 LM-Sbar "Sneaky McGee"of Lt. Wendell A McClure. "Sneaky" was McClure's nickname.
