Just bumped into this site near Selby.
SE 57380 29509
The old 25K map has it down as a hostel, which indicates a possible WW2 camp, maybe POW, but the huts ( Quonsett?) seem very close together.
Any suggestions welcome.

Looking at Old-Maps.co.uk the numerous close huts appeared on the 1964-72 maps but a different layout was present on the 1958 maps, even allowing for map simplification. The 1958 labeles it as Hostel (West Riding CAEC) but the later ones as Gateforth Farm and I would hazard a guess at large scale mushroom farming.
The huts do look old but may only be 1960s build or possibly relocated from elsewhere, although the look too long.

I took a look at Old maps for the first time. Later maps describe it as a mushroom farm, though it was a POW camp.
The Camp to the NE was a US Army camp built in WW2. Ref Pastscape

I subsequently found that the mushroom farm had been up for sale recently. Having been to a similar farm in Sussex in the early sixties it looked familiar. The POW camp would explain the different layout on the 1958 map.
The Old-maps site is good but a tad expensive if you want to zoom in.
