7 squadron Canberra WJ680 seen in 1977, but where?
Very odd looking control (?) tower behind, even the temporary looking tower looks to have something interesting on top of it.

I think the 'tower' is one of the test facilities that were to be seen on the Electronic Servicing Centres at V-Bomber bases. Speaking as a layman, I believe the radar or other transmitting device was positioned in the tower for testing.

So is that normally one of the towers for testing V force H2S Mk9 radars? I take it converted for different use by the time the picture was taken?

Edit, the picture in Teds link is almost exactly the same angle, except with people, and the devices on the scaffold tower uncovered, pyrotechnic display or something I wonder?

Thanks Ted, I have a funny feeling now that these might be mentioned on here somewhere, I hadn't realised that they were that 'tower' like until now.

I think you'll find that the temporary scaffolding and wooden structure was built especially for TV cameras for filming the Royal Review air display in July 1977. They are under weather wraps.
