Does anyone other than me read the Daily Mail? Theres an interesting picture in it today. It shows the C in C of NEAF and his RAF Police bodyguards and drivers from 1954. What I noticed was that the two non coppers are wearing sam browne belts. Ive never seen anyone in the RAF wearing them before, and the two people wearing them are NCOs. And no their not the white webbing cross belts that coppers used to wear, these are of a dark colour and look as if there made of leather.

No they are definetely RAF, and in the army the only NCOs who wear sam brownes are WO1s. As for the rocks,Im not sure what you mean. The picture is from Egypt and during hot weather the RAF would have been wearing KD.

I believe 'The Rocks' originally wore Khaki at their inception how long that lasted though I have no idea.
