Which Airfields ??

Old RAF training /flight safety fillum.
Some lovely clips of airfields...any ideas where ??

The bouncy PR Spit landing is RAF Benson unsurprisingly.

I have a few issues of Happy Landings from 1946/7 (an RAF Flight Safety publication that came after Tee-Emm and before Air Clues)
The following are from the May 1946 issue announcing the introduction of this series of films. I may have details of the film in question but it's probably in one of my as yet unconquered magazine mountains.







I seem to recall Colerne being mentioned in connection with one film? - But can't be certain.

What is apparent though is that there were a lot of "preventable?" accidents happening - with careless aircrew / servicing errors very much in evidence.

This flying shots for this film in the series were shot at Kemble.

Kemble then for the Oxford footage ?

Here is the York film...

I had another look at the Oxford 'brake test' footage last night and although the layout with the Lamella (?) Hangars and 'T Junction' look similar to the the remote site at Kemble (near Bobs Copse - just east of airfield) I was not 100% convinced...any other ideas anybody ?...an MU/Storage Airfield with Lancasters and Horsas and also that particular layout !

I'm sure the first film was mentioned on Key forums ages ago, and that someone there was around when the Mosquito film was shot. From memory, and I'm not saying this is correct but I thought that Kabrit was the airfield, also thought that the Oxford sequence was at Aston Down.

Thanks james...I had looked at Aston Down on GM but could not ID a location there either (although I realise that layouts/buildings have disappeared since ww2)
How many MU's had Horsas ??
