Airfield ID reqd. was created by NJR
Had this picture sent to me via my website. The sender is requesting the name / location of the airfield, I've no idea myself but do know I'll find the answer on here.
If pushed I'd say not a UK airfield, Germany in the 1950's?

This is Manston at the end of the war and its is a well known photo published in quite a few books over the years. One of the F Type(?) hangars was still there in the 1990s.

Since when did the Germans have F type sheds?? I know they were responsible for the Lamella design but you can't credit them with everything to do with airfields you know!

Gloster Meteor F.1s of 616 (South Yorkshire) Sqn. Deffo Manston. The Squadron was here from 21/07/44, with a detachment at Debden, until 17/01/45, when they moved to Colerne.

Already posted in the quiz but here it is in the 1980's.
The other aeroplane shed in the wartime picture was also there in the late seventies. It was similar to the early ones at Leysdown and Eastchurch.
Don't know it's official designation though.
