Just confirming - it *is* meant to be Ringway and it's supposed to represent all the units that were based there during the war.
Title is "Airborne Pioneers", pained by Edmund Miller in 1991 and the original is/was on display at the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry.

As theres a balloon Id say Ringway. But personally I think its a montage and doesn't depict one single airfield.
Just confirming - it *is* meant to be Ringway and it's supposed to represent all the units that were based there during the war.

As there are a lot of Army personnel from the Parachute regiment and some Polish officers I agree with others whove said it has been produced to celebrate 50 years of Ringway. The yellow on the Lanc may simply be primer when it comes out of the paint shop.

It's the prototype BT308 which was assembled by the Avro Experimental flight at Ringway. Hence the yellow - standard prototype colour scheme.
