US Army Air Force VHF Antenna - What wireless set?

11 Jun 2013 20:37 #1 by Bavarius
Hello!

The enclosed picture shows a VHF antenna that was widely used by the U.S. Army Air Force on airfields in Germany after VE-Day. The antenna was mounted on the roof of the airfield tower or base ops building. It was probaly used for ground-to-air communication. The power unit for this wireless set could have been a "PE-95" installed in a Trailer "K-52".

.

Unfortunately all attempts to identify the associated wireless set failed until now.

May suggestion is, that similar antenna were used on airfields in UK

Has anyone an idea?

I would be grateful for all details!

Regards
Guenter
