Transformer building ? was created by Gypsymoth
I'm tidying up my Long Newnton by placing objects called on the attached plan 'Trans'. I know about M&E plinths & I have them.
Whilst surfing the web I came across this picture of a red brick building titled Transformer at an old airfield in Cumbria.

Are these 2 items - M&E plinth & the plan Trans - the same thing? The 3rd pic is the transformer I've cobbled together just in case......

You say 'one' so I assume you mean that's a transformer building? In which case will this be a better one for my purposes?

M&E plinth tended to be surrounded by brick or wire surround whereas a Main transformer was an enclosed building with a roof .....

Exactly as post#4 says

You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

I see what Gypsymoth is asking, at Long Newnton there are the usual M&E plinths but there are also three 'Trans' no site number just TRANS written on the plan next to either a square box shape [two] and one a sort of cruciform shape? They are laid out on the perimeter track north/west, North/east and south/east. Due south is an M&E plinth [possibly making up a square of four?]. Has anybody any idea whether they are just another name for an M&E plinth or are they some other design.
