I've got a feeling that this is taken at a Fairey airfield, Heston or W.Waltham beaing favourite, a bit late for Great West.

Good suggestion, Mawgan. PNK, I thought Ballyhalbert at first till I checked the photo in AS7. The houses there are in blocks rather than individual.

Not many houses by White Waltham that can be seen in GE with a chimney stack central on the roof, a few in willant close.

Pretty sure this is a Fairey Co photo (no unit codes or markings, quality & angle of pic etc) and that the place is Heston where most of the first FR.4s made their first flight.

If it is Heston the houses on the north side of the golf are probably the best match.
