My only deffence is that it was late and I've not had much sleep....Ellastone. North of Uttoxeter, there is a bridge over the river Dove. The gun emplacement I photographed is on the Staffordshire side of the bridge and diagonally opposite in Derbyshire there is a pillbox. Both designed to protect the crossing.
Location: Near Prestbury Station by the railway line, nr. Woodford Airfield.
Condition: Fair
Description: 18/07/1995 Pillbox, no specification. Concrete walls and corrugated asbestos roof facing runway. No embrasures facing away from runway. [Recorders note the site may be an air raid shelter].
