Where is this?

Where is this? was created by mawganmad
I know what it is, when it was-ish (mid-late '50s), and why I'm interested in it, but I don't know where it was taken.
Thankfully there are some really good recognition features in the background, including a dome trainer and what appears to be a T2 hangar and two of those tall turret trainer type buildings which should narrow things down a bit.

Anyone here know?

Let's put it this way, it's not where I would expect it to be while wearing those markings, the clue probably is in that list but I honestly don't know enough about the other airfields (ie did Silloth have a dome?) to even have a guess:oops:
Good call posting the link for others to see though8-)

There's a Vampire lurking in the background too . Come on NP , which airfields had surviving Dome Trainers in the mid 1950's ?

Bovingdon

You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

Many thanks for that Paul, is that definite or a good guess?

Well I might be wrong it was the half Romney boiler house and the dome that made me think of Boivingdon but I am not so sure now. The only other airfield that springs to mind with half Romney boiler houses to a T2 is Aldermaston but surely its not there either.

I'm guessing that the two tall turret trainer buildings together would confirm either way?
Are they unusual together like that?
