what would be in a box like this

heres a box i found. as it says on the side. any ideas what would have been in it

How long is a piece of string? It was (is?) standard practice to address consignments to the Officer Commanding (OC) of the intended unit so that address would appear on everything from an aircraft engine container to a carton of screws!

2 MU is Number 2 Maintenance Unit

I must admit I thought Sealand was 30 MU.

It was, but as far as I can see different stocks were held under different 'owner' MUs one of which was Number 2.

AIR29 series at The National Archives has details.

Sealand was 2MU from 15-3-59 to 30-6-69, first as Packing Depot, then Equipment Depot, finally Equipment Supply Depot. It was then absorbed into 7MU Quedgeley.
I guess the packing case originated from its days as a packing depot .

Source: RAF Flying Training and Support Units (Sturtivant / Hamlin / Halley) The book states that it had a sub-site at Ridge, which doesn't make much sense since the latter was an underground ammunition store at Corsham. That probably belongs to the period when 2MU was the Ammunition Depot at Altrincham.
