While looking on Google Earth i came accross this building in the middle of a field. This is close to the old Raf South Witham.

And now for the pictures that was taken of the place.
Bear in mind that there was provisions for 2 gun points here for the protection of the site.

my guess is it is associated with RAF Cottesmore, appears to be in line with the runway

Despite the fact that its almost bang-on Cottesmore's extended runway line, at 7,500 feet, it appears to be a
Pumping Station
If so, how disappointing

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite

The clue is in the brickwork and the ceiling
You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

Its 1.1mile from the threshold which is the optimum distance for a middle marker, Cottesmore had inner and outers but no middle with the DN811. The outer marker is/was on the road from Colsterworth to Corby Glen.

Not a defensive structure, and relatively recent unfortunately.
Pumping station/modern utilities seems most likely.
