In the absence of any other replies, from my 1985 Jane's Airport equipment it's similar to a Plessey ACR430 Airfield Control Radar.

But, I dont think Carnaerfon/Llandwrog has ever had any form of ATC radar, in fact since the RAF withdrew it doesnt have any ATC service. In fact when I saw the picture I thought it was something that someone had made in a shed!

I'll agree with that, tho I've not seen one without a dome over it!

Ian, is it on a circular base?

The Radar is on a concrete pad with a walkway to it, it does look insitu though, but could it be part of the museum, again although that is a fair way off with no other exhibits around and its at the back of it ???

Can I hazard a guess at an ACR7D. The ones at Watton and Salalah look like this.

Can anyone enlighten an ex AATC as to what the letters mean in ACR? My guess is that the A stands for Airfireld and the R for radar.
