Any idea what this is? (One for manda?)

Not that I know much about POW camps but it looks a bit scattered to be a purpose built one. It might have taken over as one very late in the war or post-war when things were more relaxed.

Could it be a Land Army Camp?

I suspect they were. There are stories of POW's going to the local Cinema and fishing in nearby rivers but I don't recall when this was as by 1946 most were just being looked after pending repatriation. I feel a diversion coming on, which I must resist It would be interesting to find out what actually happened to POWs and their camp in the transition period after 1945. All part of social history.

Back to the camp. I still think it may have been built for another purpose, originally, like a lot of the POW camps in the list.

I don't suppose it was funny at the time but now.. :-D
