I bought this image from flebay recently. Anyone out there who recognise the location please? And, what is the building? Looks like the rear end of, I imagine, something like a cannon range possibly?
There was an area at Farnborough which had trees like that close by and it was called simply 'the dump' because aircraft which had been used for some trials were dragged there and left for the cutting torches. It was in use until it was cleared in about 1992 and was situated south west of the runway 11 threshold.
On one occasion there were 3 x Lightnings being cut up and there must have been some vapour in one of them as it blew up whilst the workers were cutting it up (early '80s I think).
