BARTON MOSS - WHAT IS THIS SITE? was created by PETERTHEEATER

A little south of Barton Aerodrome was a site with a number of earth traversed buildings laid out in a linear pattern implying storage of explosives.

The site is now overbuilt but the former layout can be seen here: (Courtesy of Old Maps website)

That is the Barton Fuel Depot - Lubricant. Last discussed in 2009, which is why it took me a while to realise what it was. I don't recall any other depot looking similar though.

Thanks. I never thought to turn on my Fuel Depots placemarks in GE. Just did so and read my own comments in the Forum thread which you have linked.
