Practice bomb ? was created by Solway
Been told about yellow coloured ,two -three foot long,four-five inch diameter "bomb" with small disc on side with words beside it saying g"If found. pierce here and submerge in deep water" What could it be ??

Possibly an air-dropped or ship launched marine marker such as a smoke or flame float. The indicated point would be to puncture a sealed buoyancy chamber that would flood and cause the device to sink to the bottom. Without more information i can only guess.

I don't recall these Flame Floats having a 'puncture here' label during my time but if the design (or very similar) was carried over into more modern times post 1970 then it may have been added to cater for human sensibilities and potential hazard liabilities.
