I discovered the Gorrel's file on Fold3 a few years ago. Although WW1 is not my main interest I went through it, especially the photographs, and was surprised at how much US presence their was in the UK during that conflict. Unsurprisingly, a great deal of cover on their bases in France.

I have downloaded quite a bit of Gorell over the years. A surprising amount of information about a relatively short period of time. It also looks like a lot of work was started in 1918 and probably never really completed before the armistice.
