OLD MAPS WEBSITE - Insecure

That is why I have bought a lot of maps and charts from the forties that are now out of copyright, so I can copy them without charges, just quoted as "Authors Collection". The distinction between copyright and licence is blurred and often get confused. My suspicion is that copying copies that have been scanned by others, whether they be individuals or organisations, is the real issue. The copyright cannot be extended - or can it?

The rules were probably made by lawyers so they are bound to twist you in knots, even when you think you have understood it.

PS. I realise that buying maps and charts online is an expense but on average each one has cost me about £5.00, due to a number of bulk purchases, plus many have more than one location so offer a saving over the TNA £15 charge for each photo, even if it is of the same item.

How the heck do people publish aviation books with photos from IWM and RAFM and not make a loss?

Its not only IWM and RAFM, HE or what ever they call themselves today, also rip off and prevent 'amateur' research with their outrageous fees for aerial photography. I have complained twice now on their Linkedin site.

Apparently the Old-Maps website suffered intermittent outages in the last few days although I have been having problems for weeks.
