From my delving into ORBs the treatment of detachments seems to be based on their length. Short term ones seemed to be separate lines with the same date on the same page. Others that seemed to me to have been longer term ones had separate 540 and compiled without reference to the main unit 540. This is just an impression though and again there may an official instruction on this.

My wife recently renewed her sub to "The Genealogist" after she was offered 15 months for the price of 12. Sadly the process went haywire and for some reason we didn't get 15 months! By design I reckon.
The Squadron records are not easy to find and even more difficult to logcate a particular squadron as it required a name, forename or surname, and I couldn't see any other form of search to by pass this.
Brown and 1940 yielded a few returns and I selected 1 Squadron and once in a page within the ORB you can navigate forwards and backwards to view every page. Perhaps using the TNA version to find a name and then using this might be the best option
I have only gone through 1 Squadron but the copies of this are very good and can be downloaded as a complete page. There is no logo either so an added bonus. Formost it is probably not worth the money as it is very rare that you would want to search every ORB, I have already done over 200!
Hopefully another user can show me where I am going wrong?
