Adler

Anyone know a good online archive of the Adler magazine. I have a poor quality copy of the article on bombing raid on Fort William and would like a better copy.

I looked at this site but it is a bit confusing and Norton blocks downloads

Clicking on the magazine gives a choice of filetypes of which PDF is probably the best.
The second link you gave leads to an index of hidden files or something, possibly ones you have to pay for?

Very few have PDF copies and there is little or no information on issue numbers.

I downloaded the RAR version labelled 1941-02 but it contained May (Mai) and November (Novembre) issues only. May was the German version and November the French version. I noticed that a couple of sites have February 1941 on sale one at €318.00 and another $35.00 (US).

I have no idea where the odd prefix for "archive.org" came from as none of the links I clicked on included it. Some of the download options don't have PDF but do have ZIP, RAR or Torrent options.

I have not found any online versions so Der Adler ist nicht gelandet

I managed to borrow a copy and make a better scanned copy of the article and a few other pages.

I was going to add the page on the Luftwaffe rescue buoy here but it is too big.

There are numerous copies of Der Adler on the Polish Aviation Museum website.

The Aluminium smelter produced high quality aluminium that was important for the aircraft industry, I think they had a couple of tries at hitting it. There was a decoy site, the porridge pipes were camouflaged, there two HAA sites as well as LAA around the area. I was sent a copy of the AA Command report on the raid.

The Luftwaffe got across to the West coast a number of times, mainly attacking shipping targets.

Lucky they didn't have H2S or H2X as those Lochs would have been distinctive navigation markers. So no PPI claims
