I'm now ten days into my waiting time and will report back when my enquiry asking for copies of the Macmerry RSP is dealt with .
Back in 81 one of the PSA (remember them?) blokes from Invergordon brought in a plan of Tain from wwii. This has me thinking that perhaps PSAs succesors may hold plans of all sites. But how do we contact them?
I dare they binned anything that wasn't in their remit after closure/sale.
Other public bodies like the old water boards would also have had copies of plans marked with the relevant locations of interest to them. I have an old 1960's copy of RAF Biggin Hill but sadly, despite being in a tube for the last 40 years it has faded to almost invisible - a big problem with those old copies that smelt funny and irritated my nose.
