No Amount Of Evidence Will Ever Persuade An Idiot (probably not Mark Twain)
Eighth and Ninth Air Force Squadron Diaries (ORB Equivalents) was created by Peter Kirk
Did the 8th and 9th Air Force keep squadron records in the same way as the RAF? If they did are there any copies available online? I am particularly after their use of ranges in UK.

They're effectively the unit monthly histories, which are kept by AFHRA at Maxwell AFB in Alabama.
Very few are online I'm afraid, but a few of the 8AF Bomb Group websites have bits and bobs of varying depths (the 384th have all the scanned microfilmed pages online, the 401st have condensed histories to download, etc.)
We have the 1st Bomb/Air Division records on ranges and their use in the ARG Archive, but you have those reels already.

Yes, those reels with the range information were some of the best overall range records I have come across. Thanks for the pointers to the 384th and 401st, hopefully the 384th ones will give me an idea if it is worth contacting AFHRA again as it would be good to see the scale of range use.
I also need to flesh out the use of ranges by the Ninth AF, especially from the south coast airfields.
