I recently found this site and it appears to contain a lot of scanned documents and books, many relating to aviation
babel.hathitrust.org
You can view the scanned pages online but to download a full copy you have to be a member of an affiliated organisation. The search is a bit fickle but can be narrowed done by various pre-set filters.
One document as an example was a UK Air Transport Manual from the late thities here babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015...43124;view=1up;seq=1

A couple of books that might be interesting
RACON LIST - from September 1954. It includes USAF locations in the UK (No idea what it is!)

AIR FORCE BASES OUTSIDE THE US (1993) - UK Base come under R for RAF and seem to included properties attached to the main base so may be useful.
