Hi guys, I'm wondering if anyone has any info or know where I can find info about a crash that happened on 20 dec 1945 at Ashfield farm near tilstock. I know that the plane crashed as it overshot the runway and the only fatality was the navigator. I would like to know the sqn of the aircraft and serial no etc. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks troops

Hi, I can't find anything on that one. This is probably not the best forum to ask about crashes. I suggest the RAF Commands Forum will come up with a rapid answer.

You also may be interested in one about a year earlier when Halifax LL281 crashed on take off at Tilstock when the port inner engine failed. It burned out 100 yards from the airfield perimeter, three of the crew being killed and four injured. 6 December 1944.

Sorry I've missed this one so far but ; Wellington X LP912 , 1380 TCU crashed on overshoot from Tilstock at Ashfield Farm . All survived but the navigator F/O Robert Struthers died later of his injuries .
