Squadron Leader Archie McKellar, of Paisley

I must admit, I have never heard of Archie Mckellar He well deserves to be included on any memorial to the Battle of Britain pilots.
But it's like I have said before... there's usually idiots in charge.
I hope that the local MP for Paisley, George Adam, is successful in getting proper recognition for Hero Archie Mckellar.
Any chance of getting a photograph posted-up of the Blue plaque as seen in the link.

Attempts to get recognition for Archie McKellar have dragged on for years. The most fitting tribute he has had so far was the Hurricane of the Strathallan Collection which flew in his colours, UP-A, P3308, for the entire duration of its time there until sold to Canada. In 1975/76 the Collection received a letter praising the restoration but pointing out that it was missing McKellar's personal emblem. The letter was from Charles Spanswick who had been Archie's fitter during the war. Archie had requested the crest be painted on the knock-out panel under the cockpit "so that if I'm shot down I can always retrieve my crest". The panel was duly removed from the Collection's Hurricane and sent to Mr Spanswick who replicated the work he had done so many years previously. From then on the Hurricane sported the crest of a Lion Rampant in a gold shield.
