COPMANTHORPE - Halifax (R9497 and DG420) Mid Air Collision

Hello everyone,

I have been researching the crash of Halifax R9497 which took off from Riccall on the 19th of August 1943. It collided with Halifax DG420 from Rufforth several minutes after take off and 14 airmen lost their lives in this tragic accident.

Im currently working on some webpages dedicated to this crash and these Halifax Heroes. There are several unanswered questions ( in the 'HELP!!!!' section). Perhaps even more information may be discovered.
