My late father, Douglas Ferguson, was based at RAF Sennan and was a rear gunner in a Lancaster. He made 59 missions with his team all of whom survived the war. I understand this was something of a record on both accounts.
My father was a 19 year old from Ballycastle, Co Antrim when he joined the RAF and as a child I remember him regaling my siblings and me with stories of his exploits with his friends at Sennan. There seemed to be a real sense of comradeship which he missed desperately as a civilian.
I am interested in tracing any relatives of the team with whom my father flew and also in finding information regarding the missions in which he played a part. I have one photo of my father with his team on their Lancaster which someone may recognise.
I am hopeful that someone will have the information I need.
Welcome to the fourum. I am having trouble locating the base where your father operated from in Lanacsters. RAF Sennen (with an E) was a radar or wireless station in Cornwall so I am wondering if the Sennan you mention was overseas? Do you have any record of the squadron he served with as that will help. I have no information on people but it may help to narrow the search for those that may be able to help. Sometimes a squadron diary (Operational Records Book) can include names although this is by no means common.

Intriguing - Peter is correct regarding Sennen in the UK. The only airfield I've found anything like that name is Senem in Tunisia. It was used briefly during WWII by Nos.6 and 680 Squadrons, but was a fighter station flying Hurricanes. There is hardly any mention of it on the web.
Hoping you might be able to glean a little more info.
