Newby from Germany with lots of RAF Gutersloh memories....

...and trying to bring them back in Flightsim....

Hi everybody,

today, I found my way to this exciting site of military aircraft history. Spending my childhood in a small village located in the east side approaching area of RAF Gutersloh, I was fascinated by all former military aircraft visiting RAF Gutersloh those days....
And these are a lot - Lightnings, Canberras, VC-10, Phantom, Vulcans and last but not least my favorites - THE HARRIER GR3 and GR7 !!! Later on, I spent my spare time with modelling Revell and Airfix kits until I finally started to bring back my memories in redesigning RAF Gutersloh in Flightsimulator FS2004:

Those days, I was immensely supported by the guys of the airfield construction group, namely John Young (responsible for the outstanding Harrier birds) and Steven "Stevo" Legg. These guys did the brilliant Duxford scenery for flightsim as well and furthermore Pete Beeby who performed the ground, trees textures and Tab Vees....

I had a look inside the RAF Gutersloh topic and was very impressed by the peoples reports and stories, but also by the pics were made by them.

So now I am planning to improve my scenery to a better version of flightsim and looking for help:

I would be very thankful for any picture I could use to make photoreal textures of - most appreciate the HAS and the tower building. I would be glad if I could ask some special questions near future about the former area, especially those days end 1980s early 1990s.
