Hello all, I'm trying to find a disused airfield in England where I could approach the owner of about carrying out some testing of machinery on runways and Taxi ways. Has anyone any suggestions about sites where this might be a possibility?

peter kindred [farmer] on parham airfield ,suffolk is a very friendly man. all sorts use his runway and tracks there

Hi Alan, I'm based in the midlands but will consider an airfield anywhere in England that is available for use. Do you know of anywhere?

How about Hixon? The runways are still there albeit in poor condition.Darley Moor is another possibility.

theres also sherburn brake testing 'runway', they may let you on?

Thanks papajuliet and Granite. I'll look into both. I'm not too concerned about the condition of the runways as we want to chew them up as part of our testing.

I would suspect after that statement the helpful replies may not be so forthcoming.
