hi all.,,

after many years of lurking this forum I thought it about time id register,,.,.so hi,,.,im rob, an avid scale model flyer & have always found old disused airfields very attractive ,,not only in the atmosphere surrounding them but also in the normally wide open spaces the runways are on,,,,i guess we all feel the same,, standing their in awe of the things that happened there.,,12o clock high moment,,..,
,i live almost ontop of nuthampstead & know the area like the back of my hand,,,i also am a associate member of the 352fg after an invite from bob punchy powel after painting my willys jeep in 352nd markings,,.,.anyway thought id introduce my self,...,I will post some pics as & when I take upto date ones,.,,

great site by the way,,,,shame most of the subjects are gradually being taken over by mother nature,,,what also amazes me is most of the old buildings that are no longer in use are still standing,,..,of particular interest to me is the bases of the mighty EIGHTH,.., & the USAAF in general.,.,if I had my way I would love to own,,restore,,,live in a control tower over looking a vast space looking over empty peri tracks that once was filled with the roar of aero engines,... once again great site,,big thanks to all the people that have posted on here as its kept me busy for yrs looking through it all,.,,

Welcome Rob, it certainly is s great forum. You should fit in well here, would live to see a picture of your jeep, I've always wanted one myself too, along with a control tower as well!

I too know Nuthampstead well from long ago during my time with RAF BD based at Debden. Must be 50 years now! I posted some pics in the Nuthampstead thread some years ago so you have probably seen them.
