RAF Lichfield & RAF Spilsby

Hi all,

I am a new member of the Airfield Research Group and I thought I would say hello.

I was born and brought up on the edge of RAF Spilsby in Lincolnshire from where 207 & 44 Squadrons (and later, 75 Sqn) flew Lancasters - in fact I played on the old runways in the very early seventies.

I now live in Fradley on what was RAF Lichfield, home to 27 OTU and their Wellingtons and 51 MU who prepared a multitude of aircraft types. I am a founder member of the newly formed RAF Lichfield History Group and am starting to research the airbase. Any information that anyone has on RAF Lichfield, including photos or contacts of people that served there would be greatly appreciated.
