I just opened the emailed ARG Newletter No 2 and read the contents with interest.
What struck me most were the photographs taken using a drone. The oblique aerial views fill-in that gap between ground-level and vertical aerial views available on satellite imagery platforms such as Google Earth. We are fortunate that we also get frequent inputs of drone views on the ARG Forum posted by members.

A question was asked about the Control Tower of Barton aerodrome - I use that word rather than 'airfield' since it is more fitting for such an old landing ground. The entrance door of the building contains a 'two-window hatch' and queried the original use. In pre-war days this structure would have been referred to as a Watch Office. The pilots of aircraft landing on the field were obliged to 'book-in' and I opine that this hatch would have been opened with a fold-down shelf manned by an employee to sign in aircraft and collect a landing fee.
I find the Newsletters informative and encourage their continuation. My thanks to the producers.
