Being based at Bourn, I would suggest it was Babraham bombing range 10 mile SE of Bourn. The target was at TL 429 513. I haven't been able to identify the locations of the quadrants or direction arrow.
According to my notes I came across the same Shelford name and marked it as Babraham at the time. It was controlled by Oakington after opening in June 1943. The danger radius was 650 yards.
It was a day and night range being electrically lit for night bombing. It covered 121 acres of land requisitioned under DR51. It was retained post war with 226 OCU at Bentwaters being one of the users. By 1950 it was probably out of use as a reconnaissance by RAF bomb disposal was carried out in February of that year. As the BD units records stop then I don't know if or when any clearance was carried out.
